Houston Motorist Dies after Collision with 18-Wheeler

On March 3, 2011, Houston police say an 18-wheeler and a Jaguar collided in the morning on the eastbound lanes of the North Loop by Eastex Freeway. Reportedly, the driver of the car was pinned inside and passed away at the scene. Sources say the 18-wheeler appeared to be hauling pipes or tubing.

Subsequently, sources say the Houston police shut down the eastbound lanes of the freeway to investigate.

Lumberton Man Will Live After Serious Car Accident On Eastex Freeway

On February 27, 2011, Beaumont police say a Lumberton man was left in critical condition following a serious accident on the Eastex Freeway. Reportedly, early in the morning a 1999 Ford Contour was traveling northbound on Eastex Freeway by the LNVA canal at excessive speeds when it attempted to change lanes and pass a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro. Beaumont police say the driver then lost control of his vehicle and wrecked. Sources say the Lumberton man is expected to live and the other two individuals involved were also transported to the hospital.
