On April 15, 2012, Fort Bend authorities say a three-car accident in Fort Bend County sent two children to the hospital Sunday night. Reportedly, the accident happened on Crabb River Road and Highway 59. Investigators say two children were ejected from a car.
Houston Woman Killed After Exiting Car On The Road Way
On April 15, 2012, Houston authorities say a woman was struck by a car and killed after exiting her vehicle on the roadway early Sunday morning. Reportedly, deputies arrived at W. Mount Houston near Cora and found a woman’s body on the road. Authorities say the woman was walking in the far right lane of the road when a white pick-up truck traveling in that lane hit her and kept driving.
3 Houston Area Students Injured In Collision With School Bus
KHOU News has reported that three high school students were injured in chain-reaction collision involving a school bus on January 24, 2011 in Northeast Houston. According to school officials, a vehicle hit the car carrying the three students on West Lake Houston at Breakwater Path, the students’ car then collided into the back of a school bus transporting Woodcreek Middle School students.
Houston Bicyclist Killed By Intoxicated Driver
On January 24, 2012, Houston authorities say a hit-and run crash resulted in the death of a bicyclist and a DWI arrest. Reportedly, the bicyclist was traveling southbound on Jones Road at Fallbrook when the driver slammed into him. Authorities say the driver of the vehicle fled from the scene, but was arrested a short time later. Reportedly, the driver of the van was found inside his residence, asleep in the stair well with the keys to his van under his body.
Multi-Vehicle Car Crash Near Down Town Houston
On September 8, 2011, Houston authorities report that four people were taken to the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash near downtown early in the morning. Reportedly, three individuals riding in a Nissan Maxima were speeding westbound on Sen. Lloyd Bentsen Highway when the driver crashed into the back of a blue Cadillac. Sources say the impact of the crash caused the blue Cadillac to crash into a taxi in the next lane. Reportedly, the outbound lanes of the freeway were closed while a cleanup crew cleared the scene.
Sprinkler Water a Factor in Fatal Houston Collision
On August 2, 2011, Houston police say a woman who was speeding hit some sprinkler water in the roadway and crashed into a tree. Reportedly, the accident took place in the 12000 block of Briar Forest Drive. Police say the water was the result of several sprinkler systems along the road. Reportedly, the woman died as a result of her injuries. Investigators have not been able to determine if there was unusual amount of water in the roadway.
Head On Car Collision In Houston Being Investigated
On June 30, 2011, Houston sources say two cars collided after a Grand Am swerved into the other car’s lane near F.M. 1960 at Oak Timbers Drive. Investigators say the driver of an oncoming Chevrolet SSR tried to stop but could not avoid the head on collision. Authorities are still investigating the reason the Grand Am swerved into the oncoming traffic.
Teenage Driver Killed In Southwest Houston
On June 29, 2011, Houston authorities say a teenage driver was killed in a collision in southwest Houston. Reportedly, the 17-year old driver of a Suzuki XL7 was driving southbound on South Main Street near Summit Ridge Drive when the teen crossed the northbound lanes of South Main to make an illegal U-turn. Sources say the Suzuki hit a Ford Explorer which was traveling southbound. Reportedly, the Ford rolled over many times.
1 Killed and 4 Injured After Red Light Runner Hits Taxi
On June 27, 2011, Houston authorities say a driver was killed and four people injured following a collision involving a private taxi van in southwest Houston. Reportedly, a red Acura struck a gray Ford Freestar minivan that was turning onto the 7900 block of West Fuqua Street from the 15300 block of Fondren Road. Witnesses say the impact of the collision caused the minivan to roll over several times causing the driver of the van to be thrown out and become trapped underneath the vehicle. Sources say an 18-year old man, 12-year old girl and 1-year old girl were all passengers in the van. Investigators say the driver of the taxi was cut-off when the crash occurred. Houston police say the driver of the Acura admitted to speeding and running a red light.
18-Wheeler Collision Shuts Down Houston Rush Hour Traffic
On June 27, 2011, Harris County authorities say a multi-vehicle car accident involving a jackknifed 18-wheeler shut down part of the freeway during afternoon rush hour at I-10 East and John Ralston. Investigators say that five vehicles were involved and the eastbound main lanes were closed until the scene could be cleared.
